When can I apply?

Applications for the holiday homes start in September each year with an announcement and application form in the Timpson News. The application process closes at the end of November.

What is the selection criteria?

Everyone is entitled to apply for the Company’s holiday homes. However, given the number of colleagues for the number of holiday homes, we are forced to have some guidelines. Strict priority is given to those colleagues with children for dates during the traditional school holiday period. After that, the following selection criteria is applied in the hope of giving as many colleagues as possible the opportunity to enjoy one of our holiday homes:

• Has the colleague given notice to leave the business?
• Length of service?
• Does the colleague have a clean disciplinary record (last 12 months)?
• Did the colleague have a holiday home last year?
• Has the colleague been before?
• Number of children going?

In the event of two or more colleagues applying for the same holiday home and for the same date, the above selection criteria is taken into account to determine whether an application is successful.

When will I know if I have been successful?

Your Area Manager/Department Head will sign your form to confirm your availability to go. He/she will then send the form into Colleague Support for the beginning of December. All applications are considered in the first week in December and you will be notified, either way, before the end of December.

I’ve never had a holiday home?

Keep applying. As the business grows it becomes more challenging to meet everyone’s expectations. However, we are constantly reviewing this important colleague benefit and want as many colleagues as possible to benefit.
